The Department of Energy's Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (NBNL) has just posted it's "Streamlined Energy-Savings Calculations for Heat-Island Reductions strategies" Report. This report estimates the impact of Heat Island Reductions strategies on buildings' cooling and heating energy use and peak power demand using the DOE-2.1E model and weather data for 240 locations in the U.S. For more information see" http://www.library.lbl.gov/docs/LBNL/473/07/PDF/LBNL-47307.pdf

The U.S. Department of Energy's Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy compiled information from numerous sources on commercial and residential building energy consumption.
